His funeral marked the first time he had ever physically been inside the church as a Catholic. Sid was loved by many. In fact, it is his friends who have become such an enduring part of his legacy. There are stories to tell! One of those friends, Bill Cavnar, is with us today to discuss Sid’s life. And, to help us tell the story, we will feature music from Sid’s personal (and incredibly idiosyncratic) collection of recorded music. It’s just one surprise after another! This work - which was recently discovered in 2024 - has not been heard outside of Europe since its premiere in 1782. As part of its 2nd annual St. Patrick Mozart Festival, the Lorica Choir is also presenting Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s beloved Coronation Mass in C Major K. 317. And here to discuss this, our guest today on Notes From Above is Constantine Novotny, the conductor of the Lorica Choir and Music Director at St Patrick Church in Whitelake, Michigan.
